EMD nods its head to Vanity Fair and uses the Proust Questionnaire to find out a little more about Artist-of-the-Month, Tiffany Rea-Fisher.
Which living person do you most admire? My mom.
What is your greatest fear? This interview...I’ll stick with that for right now.
What is your greatest extravagance? I love buying visual art. I love going to galleries and purchasing things I can’t afford. That makes me really happy.
What is your current state of mind? I am blissfully happy to be having this conversation with you [Maria Ambrose].
Which words or phrases do you most overuse? I feel like I say perfect a lot. Instead of “good.”
When and where were you happiest? My wedding day, for sure.
Which talent would you most like to have? I wish I could sing. My whole family can sing and I am the only one who can’t. Do you want to give us an example? Nope, I’m good. Thank you for the offer.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Just making it to the age that I am. I feel like people don’t put enough value in just being here for X amount of time. It’s extraordinary and its not granted to everyone. I think that’s another reason why I love my birthday because it’s exciting and wonderful and random to make it to another year.
If you were to die and come back as an animal or object, what would you be? If I was an animal I would like to come back as a Jaguar. I like big cats; I think they’re cool. If I were an object I would be a tutu. I would like to be back on stage in a very different way. I’ve always been fascinated with tutus.
Polka Dots or Stripes? Polka Dots! I like polka dots; they’re a little bit spunkier.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity? Swimming in the ocean.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? I love/hate this quality. I am extremely demanding. I think it’s good because I am also nice, so it pushes people to go where they normally wouldn’t by themselves, but in a way that doesn’t make them feel bad. But, I understand that my expectations are ridiculously high.
What’s your most treasured possession? My dog.
What’s your most marked characteristic? People seem to like my calmness and my ability to get things done efficiently. Like a ninja.
What are your favorite names? Kaia. If we had a girl we would name her Kaia. And I like Andrew.
Stay tuned for a Proust Questionnaire from each of our artists every month!
